有明確的過去時間就用過去式；強調「從過去到現在」的經驗、持續或結果才用現在完成式。課文 Tim 的對話就是最好的對照。

同一件事可用 since 或 for 兩種說法；次數表經驗。
把主動的受詞移到句首當主詞，動詞改成 be + p.p.，原主詞變成 by + 受格。be 動詞要跟著原句時態與新主詞變化。

看問句的助動詞決定簡答；happen、fall down 這類沒有受詞的動詞不能改被動。
